Hoshi no Furusato Park

Hoshi no Furusato Park is a group of nature and cultural facilities in the mountain village of Hoshino, Yame. Visitors can combine stargazing, tea culture, camping and hot springs in an area known for dark skies and Yame tea.

Main facilities
The Star Culture Center has a planetarium and 100-centimetre and 65-centimetre reflecting telescopes. The Tea Culture Center introduces local tea and offers experiences such as drinking gyokuro tea drop by drop. Ikenoyama Campground and Kirara hot spring are also nearby.
Planning your visit
The facilities have separate hours, admission fees, closing days and reservation rules. Telescope observations depend on weather, and programmes can sell out, so check each facility before travelling rather than treating the park as one continuously open attraction.
Getting around
The park lies in a rural mountain area and its facilities are spread out. Driving is the easiest way to visit, especially after an evening astronomy programme. Allow time for narrow or winding roads and decide your final stop before departure.
