Kasuga City

Kasuga is a compact residential city immediately south of Fukuoka City. It is useful for travellers visiting friends or family, attending local events or looking for parks, shops and restaurants away from the busiest central districts.

What to see
Kasuga Park is the city's best-known large green space, with sports facilities and broad walking areas. Smaller neighbourhood destinations, local dining and community events are spread across the city rather than concentrated in one sightseeing zone.
Getting around
JR Kagoshima Main Line and Nishitetsu Tenjin-Omuta Line stations on and near the city boundary provide access from Hakata and Tenjin. The two rail corridors are separate, so choose the station closest to your destination and use a local bus or taxi when necessary.
Using Kasuga as a base
Kasuga is convenient for southern Fukuoka and neighbouring Onojo and Dazaifu. Confirm the exact address before departure because a place described as “Kasuga” may be closer to a station in an adjacent municipality.
