Michi-no-Eki Munakata

Michi-no-Eki Munakata is a popular roadside market for seafood landed from the Genkai Sea, locally grown vegetables, prepared food and regional gifts. It is a useful stop when travelling between Munakata Taisha, Konominato port and the Satsuki Matsubara coast.

Hours and closures
The main market normally opens 9:00–17:00. Hamayu restaurant operates 11:00–16:00, with last orders at 15:30. The facility closes on the fourth Monday of each month, 15–17 August and over the New Year period. Toilets remain available 24 hours.
Shopping and meals
Fish selection depends on the day's catch, and popular items can sell out early. A paid fish-cleaning service is available for eligible purchases. Rice-flour bread, local produce and prepared foods are also sold; bring a cooler bag if seafood will remain in the car while sightseeing.
Getting there
The address is 1172 Eguchi, Munakata, with parking for about 500 vehicles. Driving takes about 30 minutes from either the Koga or Wakamiya interchange. The Genkai BRT and local buses connect the roadside station with Akama, Togo, Munakata Taisha and Konominato, but timetables vary by day.
