Nogata City

Nogata is a Chikuho city centred on the Onga River. Its coal-mining and railway heritage, riverside flowers and events, shopping streets and surrounding mountain views make it a practical stop between Fukuoka, Kitakyushu and the Tagawa area.

What to see
The Nogata Coal Memorial Museum preserves the history of the Chikuho coalfield. The riverside park is used for flowers, festivals, cycling and outdoor activities, while the central shopping streets show another side of the city. Event and flowering dates change each year.
Getting around
JR and the Heisei Chikuho Railway meet at Nogata Station. The Chikuho Electric Railroad's Chikuho-Nogata Station is a separate stop. Central sights can be combined on foot, but a car is useful for parks and mountain areas farther from the station.
Planning a visit
Check which “Nogata” station your route uses and confirm the final connection. For riverside events, review the organiser's latest access, parking and weather information before travel.
