Fukuoka Music Month 2026: Seven Autumn Festivals

Fukuoka Music Month 2026: Seven Autumn Festivals

This translation is being reviewed and may not yet reflect the latest changes to the Japanese article.

Fukuoka Music Month 2026 links seven different music events over six consecutive weeks from September into October. The venues range from Hakata’s waterfront and station square to Nakasu, Tenjin, Nokonoshima and Uminonakamichi.

It is not one ticketed festival at one site. Each event has its own admission rules, timetable and weather policy, so use the overview to choose an area and then confirm details with the individual organizer.

  • Seven events from September 5 to October 11, plus a BAYFES eve event on September 4
  • Urban events are easiest to combine with Hakata, Nakasu and Tenjin sightseeing
  • Nokonoshima and Uminonakamichi require extra transport planning
  • Lineups, tickets and rain rules differ by event

Dates and venues were checked against the official Fukuoka Music Month page on August 3, 2026. SYNAPSE’s 2026 venue remains unannounced.

City-centre weekends: Bayside, Nakasu, Hakata and Tenjin

BAYFES turns the Hakata waterfront into a music-filled port on September 5–6, with an eve program on September 4. NAKASU JAZZ fills the entertainment district with live jazz on September 12–13, while Sing! HAKATA brings gospel, choirs and a cappella to the plaza outside Hakata Station on the same weekend.

MUSIC CITY TENJIN runs September 26–27 around City Hall West Fureai Plaza and other Tenjin sites. The announced program includes Goggles to Penguin Rain Orchestra with special guest Tamio Okuda, RHYMESTER, EGO-WRAPPIN’ and PEAR OF THE WEST. Check which stages are free and which require arrangements.

Island and seaside festivals

ISLA DE SALSA takes place on September 19 at Nokonoshima Camp Village, combining world music and dance with an island beach setting. Check the ferry from Meinohama and the return sailing before buying or reserving anything.

INSPIRATION by SUNSETLIVE runs October 10–11 at Uminonakamichi’s Light and Wind Plaza. SYNAPSE is dated October 2–4, but its 2026 venue and detailed conditions are still pending; do not use its 2025 island information as current.

How international visitors should plan

If staying near Hakata Station, Sing! HAKATA is the simplest stop, and Bayside or Nakasu are also accessible by city transport. Tenjin is convenient for shopping and dining. Island and park venues need more time and can be affected by the last ferry, train or bus.

Outdoor events may change for severe weather. Confirm the exact stage, artist day, opening and finishing times, ticket rules and final return transport. A timetable announcement can materially change which hotel area is practical.

Official schedule and detailed event guides

The official Music Month site provides Japanese, English, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese and Korean pages. Use the event-specific page for final conditions, particularly tickets and transport. Our individual INSPIRATION and SYNAPSE guides explain the current sales or announcement status.
