For sunset choose Sakurai Futamigaura or Momochi; for flowers choose Nokonoshima; for historic streets choose Mojiko; for a night panorama choose Mt. Sarakura. Itoshima is easiest by car, but two or three stops make a better day than racing through the coast.

Itoshima: coast and hills
1. Sakurai Futamigaura (桜井二見ヶ浦)
White torii, paired rocks and sunset. Use signed parking and expect weekend congestion.
2. Palm Tree Swing (ヤシの木ブランコ)
A popular beach image around Zauo Honten. Follow the facility’s queue and use rules and avoid photographing other guests at close range.
3. Keya no Oto Park and the tree tunnel (芥屋の大門公園)
A wooded path leads toward a viewpoint. Shoes with grip are better after rain.
4. Mt. Tateishi (立石山)
A low mountain with wide sea views, but it remains a hiking trail. Do not climb rocks or start near sunset without suitable footwear and light.
5. Shiraito Falls (白糸の滝)
A cooler mountain stop for green summer scenery and autumn colour. It is far from the coast and parking queues are common in peak season.
Fukuoka City: five easy additions
6. Seaside Momochi Beach Park
Beach, waterfront structure and Fukuoka Tower in one frame; good from late afternoon into blue hour.
7. Atago Shrine (愛宕神社)
High views over Hakata Bay. It is a place of worship: keep tripods and poses out of worshippers’ paths.
8. Shiomi Park, Shikanoshima (潮見公園)
A hilltop view across Uminonakamichi and Hakata Bay. The approach road is narrow and needs care after dark.
9. Nokonoshima Island Park
Seasonal fields include rapeseed flowers, cherry blossom and cosmos. Check bloom reports, admission and the return ferry.
10. Ohori Park
Water, bridges and Ukimido near the subway. Keep clear of runners and cyclists when stopping.
Kitakyushu: streets and night views
11. Mojiko Retro
Historic buildings, harbour and Kanmon Strait light. Individual buildings have different opening days.
12. Mt. Sarakura (皿倉山)
A broad Kitakyushu night panorama. Verify cable car and slope-car operating days, last ride and mountain weather.
Photo etiquette

- Do not block shrine approaches, shop entrances or paths with a tripod.
- Ask before taking identifiable portraits or photographs inside businesses.
